Interior project ''Bambusa'' was developed using a very different type of approach. Starting the process by choosing a material, in this case bamboo in its natural state - bamboo poles. Then, researching its properties and characteristics to generate a self-supporting system that could be easily adapted to any given space without using additional materials. Lastly, applying the system to a specific site and creating its purpose and branding.
''Bambusa'' is a project about human and nature. The system created uses the raw material as a concept. Everything is measured to the characteristics of this material, its natural growing surroundings, ambient and harvesting process. This project showcases human influence to the nature, how we change it and how it changes us. This is how the concept of an organic bamboo cosmetics shop was created. All the space itself with its design, passages and product displays has a story and reason behind it. It connects material, product and ambient with a person inside. This shop is an experience of bamboo as a material, forest - as nature, product - as part of that material and nature together. It is not only a shop - it is a story that you feel a part of.

Bamboo is categorised as ultra sustainable, natural, renewable resource that not only has impressive environmental influence and physical qualities, but can also be easily applicable to various fields of industry, architecture and decoration, wood, textile, cosmetics, bio energy, hi tech, automotive, paper, farming and etc.. When it comes to characteristics, first really important property of bamboo is resilience. It means that bamboo has a physical ability to return to its original shape or position after deformation that does not exceed its limits. Because of this property, bamboo is an ideal building material for seismic-resistant constructions. In Singapore there is a saying 'Bamboos bend, not break, even in the most terrifying storm or devastating earthquake that would snap the mighty oak tree. It survives, therefore it conquers.'' /Kee Koon Boon. Another important property is strength. Bamboo fibers are much longer than those of wood. With a tensile strength of up to 40kn/cm2 it easily surpasses timber fibers and even mild steel. Even though bamboo has astonishing strength it is still very flexible and can be shaped using different traditional methods.

Bamboo used for this interior project is called ''Guadua angustifolia kunth'' and is considered to be one of the best bamboo species in the world. It grows very fast, very tall (up to 20 meters), has impressive strength and resilience qualities compared to other species and is very straight and hight quality.

According to the purpose of this space a general tile was created containing full length bamboo poles of 6 meters (which is a standard height of poles in the market) and the ones that are cut above first node ( 20 cm height representing the original cutting height of bamboo poles during harvest in the forest). The tile consists of six different bamboo poles in diameters of 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 140 mm and can be adapted to the space according to the plan during the production or construction process. For the commercial purpose of the space the system has to adopt certain necessary elements such as stands for product displays, tables for tills and other stationary elements, seats for resting and small tables for product information and marketing. To provide all of these elements, additional purposed tiles were designed that can be integrated in the space where they are necessary together with the general tile described earlier.
